Our River Chalets sit on a small hill adjacent to the restaurant, nestled amongst the trees and connected to the dining area and river-facing deck by covered wooden walkways. Newly renovated and genuinely spacious, they look out over the Kinabatangan through the canopy.
Who it suits
Every River Chalet has a comfortable king size bed as well as a super single bed, which makes it a flexible room: couples, two friends who would rather not share a bed, a small family, or a solo traveller who wants space to spread out. Our recommended maximum occupancy is 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children. Extra beds are available on request, with a maximum of one extra bed per room.

Make sure to keep an eye on the trees surrounding your room. Hornbills go past at eye level more often than you would expect and orang-utans are known to next within our grounds.
Accessibility
Due to our hillside location there is no step-free access to the rooms at Hornbill Lodge. The furthest rooms require climbing around 85 steps, the closest 10 to 20. If you need a closer room, please tell our team at the time of booking and we will do our best to place you in one of the rooms nearest the restaurant and reception.
Good to know
All meals are included and served in the on-site restaurant. There is no phone signal at the lodge, but Starlink wifi is available in the bar and restaurant area.
