Our quad-share chalets are dormitories in name only. Each 4 bed chalet is furnished with 2 sets of bunk beds with super single mattresses, and comes with its own private balcony and a high quality ensuite bathroom, exactly like our River Chalets. They sit on the same hillside above the restaurant, connected by covered wooden walkways, with the same views out over the Kinabatangan.
Two ways to book it
Rooms may be booked per bed by individual travellers looking for shared accommodation, or as a private 4-bed unit for groups and families. If you are travelling solo this is the most affordable way to stay at the lodge without giving up a proper bathroom or a balcony. If there are four of you, taking the whole chalet gives you a private room at dormitory rates.
Sharing is made a good deal easier by the storage. Each bed is allocated its own luggage storage rack and its own safety deposit box inside the room, so nobody is living out of a bag on the floor and nobody has to think about their passport.

Accessibility
Due to our hillside location there is no step-free access to the rooms at Hornbill Lodge. The furthest rooms require climbing around 85 steps, the closest 10 to 20. Our two Quad-share chalets / dormitories are both located towards the top of the hill.
